Pill Bug Nomenclature - Cards (red)

The term 'nomenclature' derives from the Latin nomenclatura, meaning 'assigning names.' Nomenclature enriches vocabulary, develops language skills, and enhances the understanding of concepts.

The Pill Bug Nomenclature Cards are formatted as 3-part cards and include a blackline master. The 11 parts of a pill bug: cephalothorax (head), compound eyes, antennae, flagellum, pereon (thorax), pereopods (limbs), pleon (abdomen), pleotelson, uropods, exopods, endopods. The parts in brackets above are provided on a separate card and may be used for younger children who may require simpler vocabulary.

To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels.

After the children have learned the individual parts, they can create their own booklet by coloring and labeling the blackline master.

Cards with labels are approx. 4¾" x 7". Print twice for 3-part cards.
