Owl Nomenclature - Cards (red)

The term 'nomenclature' derives from the Latin nomenclatura, meaning 'assigning names.' Nomenclature enriches vocabulary, strengthens language skills, and deepens conceptual understanding.

The Owl Nomenclature Cards are designed as three-part cards and include a blackline master template. The 21 parts of the owl: eyes, bill, supercilium, breast, abdomen, flanks, undertail coverts, tibias, tarsi, toes, claws, scapulars, lesser secondary coverts, median secondary coverts, greater secondary coverts, alula, greater primary coverts, secondary remiges, primary remiges, head, and tail.

To use these three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches with the control cards and their attached labels.

After the children learn the individual parts, they can create their own booklet by coloring and labeling the blackline master.
