Sink & Float - Blackline Masters

The hands-on sink and float lesson helps children develop scientific thinking skills such as cause and effect, observation, comparison, reasoning, data gathering, experimentation, and evaluation. After using the concrete hands-on materials, this printable will test their ability to think abstractly.

Sort and classify objects based on whether they sink or float. Then, use the control chart to verify their classifications. This is a cut-and-paste activity.

This set includes:

• 7 pictures of objects that sink
• 7 pictures of objects that float
• 1 blank chart
• 1 control chart

There are two versions of the cut-out pictures: one in classified order and the other in random order, providing a greater challenge.

The control chart is approx. 8½" x 11".
