Vertebrates & Invertebrates Sorting - Blackline Masters

The sorting lesson on vertebrates and invertebrates helps children categorize animals into two groups: vertebrates (animals with backbones) and invertebrates (animals without backbones). This activity fosters their ability to organize information and develop scientific thinking skills.

This is a cut-and-paste activity. Cut out the animals. Identify and classify them as either vertebrates or invertebrates. Use the control chart to verify the classifications. Then, glue the animals onto the blank chart.

This set includes:

  • 14 pictures of animals
  • 1 blank chart
  • 1 control chart

There are two versions of the cut-out pictures: one set is organized in a classified order, while the other is in random order, providing a greater challenge. Additionally, there are two variants: one set is labeled, and the other is not.

The control chart is approx. 8½" x 11".
