In the Montessori approach, studying animals aims to foster a deep respect for nature, develop empathy and responsibility, and promote scientific curiosity.

Identify, classify and sort animals as either oviparous (egg-laying) or viviparous (live-birthing) and then verify the classifications using the control charts.
