The Montessori Moveable Alphabet is a language tool designed to help children develop fundamental literacy skills, particularly in phonics and spelling. It enables children to physically manipulate letter shapes to create words, which helps them associate letters with their corresponding sounds. This hands-on approach facilitates the transition from recognizing letters in an abstract way to forming concrete words, ultimately preparing children for reading and writing.

Begin this work once a child knows 12-15 phonetic sounds.
