In Montessori, the function and position of words in sentences are studied and analyzed.

Grammar boxes isolate each grammatical part of speech, making it easier for children to comprehend the structure of language.

Boxes 2 through 9 study the function of the article, adjective, verb, preposition, adverb, pronoun, conjunction, and interjection.

Please note: There is no Box 1 in this series. The numbering system of the grammar boxes refers to the number of parts of speech within the box.

Included are all the printable cards for the Grammar Boxes, Filling Boxes and Command Boxes 2 through 9.

Printable cards are in full color.

In elementary, the symbols used are the same color as those used in primary, but the color of the Grammar Box cards changes. This is standard in certified Montessori classrooms and followed by suppliers of traditional Montessori materials (such as Nienhuis). The thought is that Maria Montessori wanted the child to truly analyze the parts of speech and not simply match the colors as learned in the primary classroom.

If you do not have the wooden boxes used with this printable, box templates (mats) are included to help you organize the cards while using them.
