Types of Flower Shapes

Montessori education emphasizes a deep connection with the natural world, and flowers are a tangible and beautiful way to introduce children to botany and the environment.

Identify and classify ten different flower shapes. Then, verify the classification using the control charts.

This set includes the following flower shapes: campanulate, cruciform, funnelform, bilabiate, papillion, saucer, stellate, trumpet, tubular, and urceolate.

Includes:

  • 10 description cards
  • 20 name cards with images (one simplified)
  • 30 flower picture cards
  • 2 control charts

To create a set of 3-part cards, print the cards twice. Cut the labels off one set and leave them intact on the other. To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels.

Cards are approx. 3½" x 3¼", control charts are approx. 7½" x 8¾".
