Ant Nomenclature - Cards

The term 'nomenclature' derives from the Latin nomenclatura, meaning 'assigning names.' Nomenclature enriches vocabulary, develops language skills, and enhances the understanding of concepts.

The Ant Nomenclature Cards are formatted as 3-part cards and include a blackline master. The 18 parts of an ant: ant, head, thorax, abdomen, antennae, compound eye, mandibles, clypeus, pronotum, mesonotum, propodeum, petiole, maxillary palps, forelegs, middle legs, and hind legs, gaster, and stinger.

To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels.

After the children have learned the individual parts, they can create their own booklet by coloring and labeling the blackline master.
