Vertebrates & Invertebrates

Vertebrates & Invertebrates Sorting - Blackline Masters

The sorting lesson on vertebrates and invertebrates helps children categorize animals into two groups: vertebrates (animals with backbones) and invertebrates (animals without backbones). This activity fosters their ability to organize information and develop scientific thinking skills.

Identify and classify pictures of vertebrates and invertebrates. Then, use the control chart to verify the classifications. This is a cut-and-paste activity.

This set includes:

  • 14 pictures of animals
  • 1 blank chart
  • 1 control chart

There are two versions of the cut-out pictures: one in classified order and the other in random order, providing a greater challenge.

The control chart is approx. 8½" x 11".
