Vertebrates of South America Sorting

This lessons helps children identify, sort, and classify the five vertebrate classes found in South America, strengthening their understanding of animal classification.

Identify and classify the pictures of vertebrates. Then, verify the classifications using the control chart. The five vertebrate classes are amphibians, birds, fish, mammals, and reptiles.

The picture cards are in a 3-part card format:

• 15 cards with labels
• 15 cards without labels
• 15 labels

To use these three-part cards, match the labels to their corresponding pictures. Use the labeled control cards to verify the matches.

The cards with labels are approx. 3½" x 3¼", the cards without labels are approx. 1" shorter, the labels are approx. 1".
