Clock Nomenclature - Cards

The term 'nomenclature' derives from the Latin nomenclatura, meaning 'assigning names.' Nomenclature enriches vocabulary, strengthens language skills, and deepens conceptual understanding.

The Clock Nomenclature Cards are designed as three-part cards and include a blackline master template. The 18 parts of the clock: analog clock, face, hour hand, minute hand, second hand, hours, minutes, seconds, clockwise, counterclockwise, 1 hour, half-hour, quarter-hour, digital clock, hours, minutes, am - before noon, and pm - after noon.

  • 2 blackline masters (analog, digital)

To use these three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches with the control cards and their attached labels.

After the children learn the individual parts, they can create their own booklet by coloring and labeling the blackline master.

Cards with labels are approx. 3¾" x 4", cards without labels are approx. 1" shorter, labels are approx. 1".
