Canadian Currency

Montessori education emphasizes practical life activities, and learning about money is among them. Children learn to recognize different denominations of money, count, and make change—skills they can directly apply in real-life situations such as classroom stores or pretend restaurants.

This set is designed to help children recognize Canadian coins and bills. It includes six Canadian coins (penny, nickel, dime, quarter, loonie, toonie) and five Canadian bills (five dollars, ten dollars, twenty dollars, fifty dollars, and one hundred dollars).

To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels attached.

Includes:
  • 11 cards with labels
  • 11 cards without labels
  • 11 labels
  • 1 control chart for the coins
  • 1 control chart for the bills

The control charts have the front and back of each coin and bill. As required by law, all bills bear the word "specimen".

Cards with labels are approx. 3½" x 3¼", cards without labels are approx. 1" shorter.
