Banana Nomenclature - Cards (red)

The term 'nomenclature' derives from the Latin nomenclatura, meaning 'assigning names.' Nomenclature enriches vocabulary, strengthens language skills, and deepens conceptual understanding.

The Banana Nomenclature Cards are designed as three-part cards and include a blackline master template. The 15 parts of the banana: banana, epicarp, mesocarp, endocarp, cut stalk, perianth, cut banana, endocarp (of the cut banana), loculi, dried ovules, bunch, hand, finger, carpel, and vertical cross section of banana flower. The cards for bunch, hand, finger, and vertical cross section of banana flower are shown in color, not in red.

• 1 blackline master of the whole banana
• 1 blackline master of the cut banana
• 1 blackline master of the banana flower (cross-section)
• 1 blackline master of the bunch, hand, and finger

To use three-part cards, match the labels to the corresponding pictures. Verify the matches using the control cards with the labels.

After the children learn the individual parts, they can create their own booklet by coloring and labeling the blackline master.
